Creativity for Poets, Prose Writers, and Songwriters

Description

Engaging in creative work is fulfilling, rewarding, and reenergizing. In fact, creativity is now emerging as a pillar to a healthy life, elevating mood, decreasing cognitive decline, and improving our overall well-being. Yet too often our creative lives get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list, in part because many of us just don’t know where to start.

That’s where this course comes in. Suitable for anyone seeking more creativity in their daily life, this course uses a set of specially developed cards that walk you through a complete act of creativity in one sitting. Students may write songs, poems, or short prose pieces, with the goal of engaging in this work three to five times a week.

You Will

  • Practice placing a priority on being creative
  • Learn how to work quickly while suspending the internal critic
  • Develop a set of skills to help maintain creativity and a renewed sense of creative possibilities
