The laws of Thermodynamics and the transition of substance from stable phase at equilibrium are fundamental to the understanding of materials, transfer of energy and work. In this course, students review the First Law, Second Law, and Equilibrium, gain an understanding of the principles of heterogeneous equilibria and their application to phase diagrams and explore concepts including entropy, elastic solids, dielectrics, and magnetic solids.

Please note: this is an online-only course so lectures will not be captured on-campus.
