Description

It’s never too early to establish investment and ownership parameters of your new business venture. This course will explore the operating model of venture capital funds and their approach to early-stage business investment, as well as staged fundraising for early- and mid-stage companies. You will learn how to properly manage ownership dynamics, align the interests of both founders and investors, and use best practices to create a market-ready investor pitch and business presentation.

Topic areas include:

  • Criteria used by venture capitalists in evaluating new investment opportunities
  • How to align your interests with those of investors on the other side of the table
  • The dynamics of ownership and the realities of dilution over time
  • How to create and communicate a compelling fundraising story, and more

Course Materials
Video lectures will be available for you to view at your own pace upon enrollment. They will be available to view anytime for 60 days after you enroll. Course materials, including lecture slides and templates (but not videos) will be available for you to download, and an entrepreneurship coach will be available for help through email during this same period.

Final Assignment
Completion of each REV course requires that you submit a PowerPoint deck and a short video presenting the deck. Your presentation will be reviewed by an entrepreneurship coach. After it is deemed complete, you'll receive an email with your course Record of Completion.

If you complete all four courses in the REV program successfully, you'll receive a Certificate of Achievement.
