Learning Collaborations

Stanford Online, operated by the Stanford Center for Professional Development, offers learners access to Stanford’s global and extended education online, on campus, and on-site throughout the world.

Most of Stanford Online’s global and extended education is delivered directly via Stanford platforms. Additionally, we collaborate with some third-party organizations to offer specialized educational content on their platforms.

Our collaborators include:

Aalto University Executive Education

The Stanford Center for Professional Development and Aalto University Executive Education jointly deliver the Certificate in Digital Business Strategy and Innovation Agility Program. This executive program is delivered online, in Finland by Aalto faculty, and on the Stanford campus. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.

Coursera

Stanford Online offers many courses and several specializations to learners through Coursera. Coursera was founded in 2012 by two Stanford faculty: Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller.

edX

Stanford Online offers many courses to learners through edX. Stanford was instrumental to the development of the first open source version of the edX platform Open edX (called Lagunita).

Get Smarter

The Stanford Center for Health Education collaborates with Get Smarter to offer a Nutrition Science course online. The program provides Stanford content supplemented with Get Smarter’s mentors and coaches. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Health Education’s Certificate of Completion.

Great Learning

The Stanford Center for Professional Development collaborates with Great Learning to offer the Stanford Advanced Computer Security Program, currently delivered in India, Singapore, Australia and the UK. The program provides Stanford content supplemented with Great Learning’s mentors and coaches. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.

Hasso Plattner Institute

The Stanford Center for Professional Development and Hasso Plattner Institute jointly deliver the Leading Digital Transformation and Innovation Program. This executive program is delivered online, at HPI in Germany, and on the Stanford Campus. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.

Kadenze

Stanford Online offers several courses to learners through Kadenze, which offers online education in the fields of art and creative technology. The courses are offered in collaboration with the Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics.

Northwest Education

The Stanford Center for Professional Development collaborates with Northwest Executive Education to offer the Strategy Leaders Program, a 2-week executive program focusing on strategic innovation and leadership preparing participants for a rapidly changing business environment. The program is taught by Stanford faculty, with guest lecturers from industry, and is held on the Stanford campus. Successful participants earn the Certificate of Achievement from Stanford Center for Professional Development.

Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

The Stanford Center for Professional Development and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) jointly deliver the Virtual Design and Construction Program in Norway. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement and a VDC-Certificate from NTNU.

Open Classrooms

The Stanford Center for Professional Development collaborates with Open Classrooms to offer the Digital Transformation Lead program. The program is based on Stanford Online courses and materials and is delivered and supported by Open Classrooms to learners in Europe and Africa. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement and a master’s level OpenClassroom diploma (accredited by the French State EQF level 7).

South East Asia Center

The Stanford Center for Professional Development is collaborating with the South East Asia Center to deliver the Leading in a Disruptive World Program. This executive program is delivered on the Stanford campus with follow-up sessions in Thailand. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Completion.

Shorelight

Stanford Center for Professional Development collaborates with Shorelight Education to offer courses and programs where learners can interact with Stanford faculty through a specialized technology deployed in classrooms and studios. Artificial Intelligence for Executives is delivered to learners in China and India and includes sessions in country as well as time on the Stanford campus. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.

University of Lima

Stanford Center for Professional Development collaborates with the University of Lima to offer the Virtual Design and Construction Program in Peru. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.

500 Startups

The Stanford Center for Professional Development and 500 Startups jointly deliver the VC Unlocked: Silicon Valley Program. This program is delivered annually on the Stanford campus and at Silicon Valley industry locations. Learners who successfully complete the program earn the Stanford Center for Professional Development’s Certificate of Achievement.
