Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences
As Stanford university’s largest undergraduate school, the School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) encompasses 23 departments—from art and art history, English, and history to economics, mathematics, and biology—as well as 23 interdisciplinary programs.
H&S faculty have pioneered the creation of massively open online courses (MOOCS) in subjects as diverse as music production, ancient manuscripts, statistical analysis, and social activism.
Current online courses offered by H&S educators include a master’s degree in statistics, a professional certificate in energy innovation and emerging technologies, and graduate certificates in several biomedical, quantitative, and statistical subjects. In addition, Stanford Online offers MOOCs created by or featuring teachers from over a dozen different H&S departments.
